Board
Minister Shellon Young, President

Minister Shellon accepted Christ at the
age of 18 after the loss of her uncle. Prior
to that, she went to church but never knew
what it meant to have a personal relationship
with Christ. She drifted during her young
adult years but came back after having her
oldest son. She made up of her mind to be
a better mother. In order to do so, she
would need God to make changes in her life.
She was willing to so and has been following
Christ ever since.
Shellon married Rev. Jaison Young Sr. and
took on the responsibility of raising his
daughter Bria Young. She is thankful to
God for her children, Bria (19), Jaison
Jr. (14), and Jordin (9). Through raising
them, it has taught her to be a better Christian
each day. It’s difficult at times but she
thanks God for teaching her to read his
word, pray, and fellowship regularly with
other believers. It’s because of these things,
it keeps her going and knowing God will
see her through anything.
Shellon now knows through the book of Phil.
4:13 “I can do all things through Christ
who strengthens me”.
Rev. Jaison J. Young, Sr., General Manager

In 2004, Rev. Jaison J. Young, Sr. became
actively involved in the lives of children
when his son started playing flag football
with the Lake Arbor Community Center. Like
most father’s, Jaison wanted to make a difference
in his son’s life. The ultimate goal is
to make every child great in life by using
the art of organized sports. In 2006, after
having an uneventful experience with another
youth organization, he promised the parents
of 22 children he could make things better.
In 2007, Jaison founded the Prince George’s
Chargers. After traveling the entire 2007
football season with the Virginia Athletic
Youth Football Association, with only 1
home game, Jaison made a promise to the
families of the 79 players, “if they
believed in God and the ability He has given
me, we would not travel to Virginia for
another entire season”.
In 2008, the Metropolitan Washington American
Youth Football League (Metro AYF) was founded
with five associations: Prince George’s
Chargers, Upper Marlboro Gators, Maryland
Spartans, Spirit of Faith Warriors, and
Barry Farm Beavers. Since 2007,
the Prince George’s Chargers have expanded
its borders into other sports such as baseball,
basketball, and track. The Metro AYF’s membership
has grown to 14 associations: 210
Vikings, 301 Panthers, Central Charles Jaguars,
Charles County Spartans, Leonardtown Wildcats,
Mechanicville Braves, Metro Cobras, Montgomery
County Youth Sports Cowboys, Pax River Raiders,
Prince George’s Chargers, Prince Georges
Storm, Upper Marlboro Gators, Spirit of
Faith Warriors, and Virginia Panthers.
Jason is a husband and a father of three
children: Bria (19), Jaison Jr.
(14), and Jordin (9). He is an
Ordained Minister of the International Congress
of Shiloh Baptist Church in Landover, Maryland.
He has served as an Administrative Pastor
of a local church in the Church of God,
Cleveland, TN USA and has worked in non-profit
management since 2003. Jaison works as a
Program Manager for Enlightened, Inc. an
Information Technologies Consulting Firm.
Reverend Jaison J. Young, Sr. is currently
the President of Prince George’s Chargers
and Metro AYF.
Reverend Jaison’s motto is:
“Whatever it takes for the kids to be successful, tell me and I will do it”. This is not a slogan; it is a way of life”.

LaTeshiea Bridgers, Parent Liaison Director
This is my 5th year with the PG Chargers organization as a Team Parent. My love for children and watching them succeed brings me back year after year. Watching the children grow and develop not only on the football field but also as a person warms my spirit. I bring with me a wealth of knowledge to the organization from not only working on the Youth Ministry Staff at my church, being a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts and working with other children organizations. It brings me great joy to know that I have impacted and help change a child's life for the better. One of my favorite books is James chapter 2. Without faith works is dead, you have to have faith in all you do.
